History of Sisters of 751

In 2005, while in prayer, the Lord spoke to Audrey Kornegay, saying, “Sister to Sister!” In response, she looked up to the heavens and said, “Lord, do you know how many problems

women have? But if you called me, you equipped me. During this time, she was attending The College of New Rochelle.

Yet, she still had her doubts whether it was she whom God had really chosen. During a Lifeline ministry gathering, she tried to introduce the ministry God gave her to the church as a new ministry. But it was Pastor Barbara Nesby who knew the importance of obeying God's will and who spoke a word that changed her life. She asked her, “Why was she trying to give the church a ministry that God gave her. It was that pastor who spoke into her life and caused her to move forward in God’s will. And on June 19, 2007, the group had their first meeting in the living room of Audrey’s home. Her team consisted of Marsha Robinson and Linda Mance. And her two greatest supporters were her Godmother, Diana Wallyn, and her aunt, Barbara Mance, who are now deceased. When they first started the group name was “Sister to Sister.” Until God finally spoke and gave them the name, “Sisters of 751.” Many have asked them What does 751 mean? " They were always too proud to say, “Besides it being the numbers of the building where it all began, 7– stands for the number of completion, 5-stands for grace and 1-stands for unity and one with God!”

Mission

“To build and restore relationships amongst women, teen girls, and their families that will inspire positive change within ourselves, our urban communities at large!”

Purpose

Sisters of 751 is a Faith-based not-for-profit support group that caters to women who are between the ages of 20 and 65 years old. Our main focus is building healthy relationships after domestic violence. For, we understand that domestic violence consists of many levels of abuse and issues. Our goals are to confront weaknesses and build strengths, to recognize the root cause of their difficulties, examine and resolve them by encouraging them to forgive, accept healing and oneness with God.

To identify their self-worth and God given purpose, to see women grow strong physically, mentally and spiritually and speak words of encouragement. To see woman let go of fear and embrace power that will allow change and to encourage them to set, identify and accomplish their life goals, and true morals, values, standards and beliefs.

So, they will change their mindset and focus on their relationship with God, self and others. And as a result become strong leaders in our homes, workplaces, communities and churches. So, they can recognize the potential within ourselves. We want them to soar high, go forward and know that they can go as far as they allow themselves.

We gather to also teach the women how to have confident within them- selves to break the barriers of low self-esteem, insecurely, jealously among their sisters and unhealthily relationship. Our desire is to raise our status back to Queens and rise above the strongholds that have us bounded. We want to encourage growth and wholeness, body, mind and spirit.
